Keeping Company: Saltwater

KEEPING COMPANY: SALTWATER

Manly Art Gallery and Museum
30 October to 29 November 2015

I have a painting in the ‘Keeping Company: Saltwater’ exhibition at the Manly Art Gallery so please join me at the opening night! – Amanda Fuller

Keeping Company: Saltwater features new works by 45 established and emerging Northern Beaches artists, most of whom are members of the Manly Art Gallery & Museum Society, working across a range of art disciplines. Artists have taken inspiration from a single theme, saltwater. The concept is a recurring area of interest for MAG&M during 2015 and was chosen to reflect multiple possibilities and perspectives of saltwater as an idea, a metaphor, a possibility, a physical place and as a cultural presence. Occurring concurrently is the 14th Istanbul Biennial, entitled Saltwater: a theory of thought forms. Both exhibitions explore old and new ideas through considered responses, using imagination and creativity. This dynamic exhibition of works across a diverse range of media aims to support and encourage creativity on the Northern Beaches and for the promotion and exposure of artists within our region. Keeping Company showcases works from the wide range of artistic practice, including photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, glass and ceramics. Thank you to all artists for their enthusiasm and level of engagement with this exhibition project.
